Na próxima rodada, o Barbalha encara o Floresta, fora de casa. Já o Ceará mede forças com o Uniclinic.

O duelo

Ashwell Prince hit an unbeaten 134 on a day of missed chances and milestones in Canterbury as Lancashire reached a respectable 269 for 8 in their end-of-season Championship clash with Kent. The former South Africa opening batsman posted the 35th century of his illustrious career to cement an otherwise faltering first innings by the newly-crowned Division Two champions. He barely put a foot wrong against a makeshift Kent attack shorn of Calum Haggett, Mitch Claydon and Charlie Shreck. The hosts gave a surprise first-class debut to 19-year-old rookie pace bowler Matt Hunn, who was thrown in at the deep end to take the new ball after signing on the eve of the match. A right-arm, Colchester-born seamer with a handful of appearances for Kent and Essex second teams and Suffolk, he replaced Shreck who is Kent’s leading Championship wicket-taker with 33 scalps. Both Kent and Hunn made a sound start once the fog cleared allowing play to start at 10.45am and, having won the toss, Kent made their first breakthrough with the second ball of the match.Mark Davies found a perfect length to draw Paul Horton forward and have him caught low and left-handed at second slip by Darren Stevens. Hunn sent down three maidens but was seen off by Prince who notched his 15,000th run in first-class cricket early in his stay.Davies gave way to Adam Ball at the Nackington Road End and Ball struck with his ninth delivery by bowling Luis Reece will a full length delivery. However, Kent slip fielder Stevens grassed two tough chances just before lunch, missing Karl Brown on 4 against Ball and then 17 off the bowling of James Tredwell via a deflection off the wicketkeeper’s knee.Prince and Brown added 71 in 27.1 overs either side of lunch until Stevens had Brown, pushing in defence at an away-swinger, caught behind by Kent’s tumbling understudy wicketkeeper Sam Billings.Prince reached his eighth fifty of the season from 129 balls and with seven fours and, on reaching 73, posted his 1,000 runs for the Championship summer.Kent botched a third chance when Luke Procter edged a drive against Stevens to be dropped at second slip by Sam Northeast. Procter failed to capitalise however, and soon perished for 8 to a diving catch at slip by Stevens after the left-hander had toe-ended an attempted sweep against Tredwell.Andrea Agathangelou followed just before tea when he shouldered arms to Ball then, soon after the resumption Stevens took another athletic slip catch to account for Tom Smith and give Tredwell his 350th first-class wicket. After almost five hours at the crease Prince reached his second hundred of the summer from 215 balls and with 14 fours. It was his sixth ton for Lancashire. The second new ball accounted for Alex Davies, caught at slip when pushing defensively at one from namesake Mark Davies, then Hunn bagged his maiden Championship wicket by having Oliver Newby caught driving on the up at extra cover. Kent fluffed a fifth chance late in the day when Billings parried a diving chance off the edge of Stephen Parry’s bat to deny Hunn a second scalp.

Antonio Conte’s start at Chelsea has been better than anyone

Chelsea stormed to another victory on Saturday, picking up a 3-1 win over Swansea City at Stamford Bridge. It’s a win that means the Blues have moved an incredible 11 points ahead of second place, albeit having played a game more than Manchester City. The win came courtesy of Cesc Fabregas, Pedro and Diego Costa although the side did have to overcome the scare of a Fernando Llorente equaliser and a period in the game when the Swans looked well capable of winning a point. The transformation of Chelsea under Antonio Conte has been quite remarkable. From a team who couldn’t finish in the top four to a side capable of blowing away any team in the division. And as this stat from Squawka shows, he has in fact made the best start of any Premier League manager in history. He’s become the quickest manager to reach 20 wins in his debut season.

It’s incredible stuff that really underlines what a fantastic job he is doing at the club. He’s creating a platform that could usher in a whole new era of massive success at Stamford Bridge.

More calls for Srinivasan to step down

BCCI treasurer Ajay Shirke and two more cricket associations have added to the voices asking for BCCI president N Srinivasan’s resignation

BCCI treasurer Ajay Shirke has also said N Srinivasan should step down till the enquiry of Gurunath is over•Hindustan Times

The calls for BCCI president N Srinivasan’s resignation continue to grow with the BCCI treasurer Ajay Shirke and several state associations joining the chorus. Srinivasan is embroiled in controversy after his son-in-law and Chennai Super Kings official, Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested during the IPL on betting allegations.Srinivasan on Sunday had said in a press conference that he had not been asked to resign by any BCCI official. However, the Punjab Cricket Association president IS Bindra, the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association president Jyotiraditya Scindia and the president of the Hyderabad Cricket Association G Vinod have all called for the BCCI chief to step down over the past few days.”Looking at the interest of the board I would definitely consider the option of staying away from the inquiry had I been in that position, I mean stepping down till the process is over,” Shirke told Indian news channel . “The credibility of the board and the perception in which it is operating is taking a beating and increasingly so. Given the continuous media speculation and the resulting damage to the image of the board, it is important that this is put to rest.”Hope cause of the problem is erased – Laxman

Former India batsman VVS Laxman has said the recent spot-fixing issue has been “distressing” and the police should erase the cause of the problem.
“It’s very disappointing,” Laxman said. “The last two weeks have been quite distressing and a feeling of anguish was definitely there. I hope the various investigations done by the police in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai come to a logical conclusion and more importantly, the cause of this problem is erased.
“It is very important because just for some greedy players, the credibility of the rest of the players should not be affected. I think it is a very important issue and I am sure it will be cleaned up very soon.”

Shekhar Salkar, vice-president of Goa Cricket Association, claimed that Srinivasan has “no other option” but to resign to ensure an impartial probe into Gurunath’s involvement. Salkar said Srinivasan could come back to his position as BCCI president if Gurunath was proven innocent.”He has to resign, there is no other option,” Salkar said. “How can you continue when your son-in-law is involved, he is involved with Chennai Super Kings, it is just not possible to have an impartial probe till he resigns. For the sake of BCCI’s credibility, in my personal opinion, he should resign till the probe is on. If it is declared that he did nothing wrong and he is proved innocent then he can come back as BCCI president. But at least till the probe is complete, he should step down.”Former India player and Delhi & District Cricket Association vice-president Chetan Chauhan also asked for Srinivasan’s ouster, at least till the inquiry is on. “For the good of cricket, Mr. Srinivasan should step down,” Chauhan said. “Once the inquiry is completed he can come back. Crores of cricket fans have been hurt by this scandal. Their faith needs to be restored.”The BCCI on Tuesday had announced the appointment of a three-member committee to investigate Gurunath’s involvement with Super Kings as a top official. The committee comprises BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale and two retired high court judges.

Graham Napier took four wickets in four balls on his way 7 for 32, the second best-ever List A bowling figures for any Essex player, as his side beat Surrey by 178 runs in their YB40 match. Essex recorded their second win in the competition in 24 hours after the visitors were dismissed for just 134 in pursuit of their opponents’ commanding 312 for 7.Needing to launch their reply with tempo and substance, the Surrey innings floundered with the loss of their first four wickets in 13 overs for 49 runs, with Napier claiming Jason Roy and Ricky Ponting. The former Australia captain had been beaten outside his off stump by Napier but there was no such good fortune for the batsman when he pushed forward to the bowler’s next delivery and lost his middle stump, leaving Napier jubilantly celebrating his prized scalp. The 33-year-old Essex allrounder continued his demolition job by bowling Azhar Mahmood and Jon Lewis and trapping Zander de Bruyn and Tom Jewell in the crease with full-pitched deliveries. That left the Surrey innings in tatters at 113 for 8. Napier then found the edge to have Stuart Meaker caught in his next over and complete his collection.Owais Shah and Ravi Bopara had led the scoring for the home side, with Shah playing a superb innings of 68 from 53 balls including three sixes and four other boundaries. Bopara scored 54 from 58 balls, with five boundaries including a six.Shah and Bopara posted 55 in nine overs for the fourth wicket to initiate the rapid acceleration of the innings. England allrounder Bopara was a surprise inclusion for the home side having been given permission to play by the ECB ahead of the Champions Trophy which starts later this week and he responded with a fine and typically stylish half-century containing wristy strokeplay and trademark drives on either side of the wicket until he was caught at deep midwicket. His demise allowed Shah to take over and the former England batsman combined elegant and conventional stroke play with aggressive punishing shots as he dominated the visitors’ bowling. He set the tone for his side who added 191 runs from the final 20 overs, with Shah at the crease for 15 of those. There were briskly struck contributions at the top of the order from Tom Westley and Mark Pettini, who scored 34 and 43 respectively, before James Foster added 39 from 18 deliveries at the conclusion of the innings.

Grêmio: Júlio Cesar; Leonardo, Geromel, Kannemann e Cortez; Michel, Maicon, Montoya, Luan e Everton; Felipe Vizeu. Técnico: Renato Gaúcho.

Veranópolis: Reynaldo; Geninho, Negretti e Pierre; Fabricio Lusa, Vinícius Bovi, Eduardinho e Talles Cunha; Juba, Taiberson e Raphael Macena.

India's July tour to Zimbabwe 'on hold'

India have put their ODI tour to Zimbabwe that was scheduled for July “on hold” due to the “fatigue factor”

The BCCI has given an assurance it will “respect” its commitment to Zimbabwe Cricket and intends for India to travel there at some stage•AFP

India have put their ODI tour to Zimbabwe that was scheduled for July “on hold”. A BCCI official told ESPNcricinfo that the “fatigue factor”, which will follow the Champions Trophy and a tri-series in the West Indies between June 28 to July 11, was the reason for the board’s decision to put the series on ice.The Future Tours Programme had pencilled in three ODIs to be hosted in Zimbabwe but there was talk of that being extended to five. The BCCI has given an assurance it will “respect” its commitment to Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) and intends for India to travel there at some stage, but it has not set a deadline for taking a call on when to reschedule. Both ZC and broadcasters SuperSport are unaware of the proposed postponement. Zimbabwe’s cricketers are under the impression they will start training to compete against India in two weeks’ time, having just completed what Brendan Taylor called a “satisfactory” series against Bangladesh, while a spokesperson for the television production told ESPNcricinfo they had not heard about any reschedule and are “due to host broadcast and transmit the series”.An India no-show will have wide-ranging consequences for Zimbabwean cricket, most notably financially. ZC is running on close to empty and is in severe debt. Match fees to some players are still outstanding and there has been no clarity on the scheme for funding franchise cricket next summer. The cost of hosting Bangladesh in April and early May will not have helped that situation. There are also scheduled tours by Pakistan in August and Sri Lanka in October, for which they will likely make a loss. Some of the money could have been recovered by the big drawcard of India because of the substantial television rights fees they bring with them. It could also have helped ZC clear some of their outstanding bills. One of them is some of the commentators who worked on the Bangladesh series. They were not paid by ZC at the time but told they would be reimbursed after the India series.Another cost they could have thought of covering is putting up the floodlights at Harare Sports Club, something that has been in the works for close to three years. The pylons have stood bare for several years while the lighting units were stuck at customs because ZC was unable to pay the money for their release. They were due to go on auction but ZC were able to secure them before that. During the second Test against Bangladesh they arrived at the ground but there is still no timeline for when they will go up. A source close to ZC estimates it will cost in the region of US$250,000 to install them. ZC will also need to secure a power source if they hope to play day-night cricket.
