-O principal armador, mas não gostei do jogo do Jadson. Muito abaixo, não conseguiu ser o que a gente espera. A ideia era armar pelos lados com Vital e Pedrinho. Conseguimos algumas bolas em cima do Gustavo. A saída do Jadson foi porque ele não estava bem – explicou.

Por que ainda não achou o time?
Diferente dos outros anos, tem jogador chegando e saindo do DM, ia demorar mais. Em 2017, o único que chegou depois foi o Pablo. Em 2018, foi o Sheik. Agora estão chegando jogadores ainda. O Ralf fez o primeiro jogo no ano, tem jogadores para estrear e possíveis chegadas. Vamos demorar um pouquinho mais para definir a equipe.

Boselli e Gustagol podem jogar juntos?
Muito difícil iniciar com os dois pela características. A não ser que a gente mude nossa forma de trabalhar, mas a princípio não vejo os dois atuando juntos.

Concorrência no ataque
O Gustavo está nos agradando demais, está sendo decisivo. Ele ia para o quarto jogo, tivemos cuidados para não ter problemas. O Boselli chegando, vi que é técnico, finaliza bem. O conjunto precisa melhorar para o ‘9’ terminar as jogadas.

Manoel tranquilo, bem posicionado. Fez o que a gente esperava, aos pouquinhos vai entendendo a forma que a gente joga com a linha de quatro. O Boselli se movimentou bastante, mas a apatia do time prejudicou demais. Ele tem mostrado no dia a dia a qualidade para jogar com o toque, mas precisamos estar mais concentrados para isso.

Qual a ideia para Vagner Love?
Ainda não sei, não fez nenhum treino com a gente. É outra característica, fez vários jogos assim no Besiktas, perto do 9. Essa é a ideia. Vamos esperar ele treinar para a gente vê o que é melhor para o Corinthians.

جاء الدور على برناردو سيلفا، الذي لم يتهاون في إنهاء تمريرة دي بروين في شباك كورتوا عند الدقيقة 23، ليعلن تقدم أصحاب الأرض.

واصل مانشستر سيتي بعد الهدف سيطرته، دون أي رد فعل من ريال مدريد الذي كان في ملعب الإتحاد لا حول له ولا قوة.

مانشستر سيتي حاول حسم اللقاء من خلال دي بروين ورودري، ولكن تسديدة الأول جانبت القائم الأيمن، والثاني فشل في السيطرة على الكرة داخل منطقة جزاء ريال مدريد.

Their five-wicket win over Sylhet Royals now pits them against Dhaka Gladiators, whom they had beaten once before in the competition.The two allrounders came together at the end of the 15th over with Chittagong still requiring 52 runs off the last 30 balls with five wickets in hand. After taking stock of the situation in a single over, the Netherlands batsman went after the Afghanistan offspinner Mohammad Nabi, taking him for 16 runs in an over with a six and a four. In the following over, Ariful joined in the fun by going after Elton Chigumbura, with 21 coming off the 18th over to ease the equation considerably.Ariful was later bowled by Nazmul Hossain’s slower delivery in the penultimate over before ten Doeschate finished it off with a slashed boundary off Sajidul Islam in the last over. He made an unbeaten 44 off 28 balls with the help of four boundaries and a single six off Nabi.Chittagong’s top-order misery, however, put them in the spot early in the chase. Não conseguir atuar pelo Timão por conta de uma grave lesão no joelho foi um drama na vida de Vilson Menezes, que agora espera ajudar o clube fora das quatro linhas. O ex-zagueiro se aposentou no fim de 2018 aos 30 anos e aceitou convite da diretoria para substituir o ex-lateral, que exerceu a função nos últimos anos.

-Obviamente que o torcedor enxerga mais o jogador externamente. Mas, devido a lesão séria no joelho, encerrei a carreira, não consegui fazer como desejava. Queria muito pelo meu perfil, de batalhador, guerreiro, mostrar nas quatro linhas, mas a lesão me atrapalhou. Tentei de todas as formas, sou muito grato ao Corinthians, mas minha lesão foi muito grave, séria. Era uma dor que me incomodava, tirava minha paz, a tranquilidade para trabalhar, tirava minha alegria no campo – disse Vilson.

– No meio desses problemas, tentei tirar forças para não me atrapalhar pessoalmente, em casa. E quando comecei a entender o que eu tinha, comecei a pegar forças e entender: não posso deixar o meu joelho tomar conta da minha carreira. Na hora de estar por baixo, tem de reconhecer, melhorar e evoluir para mostrar algo para alguém. E quando vi que não podia mais dentro de campo, vi que poderia ajudar de alguma forma. Pelo meu caráter, meu jeito de ser, comecei pensar a ajudar de alguma forma. Comecei a orientar mais os garotos, sempre ia aos jogos, passar força. Sempre fui muito comprometido, sempre me dediquei, aqui não foi diferente. Internamente, acho que fiz um bom papel no Corinthians – completou o ex-zagueiro.

Vilson é muito querido pelo grupo de jogadores, a comissão técnica e membros da diretoria. Nos últimos anos, pouco jogou, mas teve uma influência considerada muito positiva. Contratado em 2016, após passagens por Grêmio e Palmeiras, ele fez apenas 26 jogos, o último em fevereiro de 2017, e marcou um gol. Desde então, ele já traçava planos.

-Eu quando estava machucado, já pensava no que faria no pós-carreira. Participei de palestras, sobre transição, aprendi sobre gestão. Sempre fui muito de ler. E aí já estou preparado – afirmou.

Na vaga de Alessandro, ao lado de Emerson Sheik, seu ex-companheiro de time, ele será o elo entre a diretoria, comissão técnica e jogadores. Mas também dará palpites em negociações, como afirmou na coletiva nesta terça-feira.

-A nossa vivência no futebol aponta para isso, estou sempre assistindo jogo, de fora. Já tivemos reuniões, já falamos alguns nomes, sempre participando, dando nosso feedback, Duílio sempre pede nossa opinião, o Kalil (Jorge, diretor adjunto de futebol), o presidente – afirmou Vilson.

Jodie Fields asked Sri Lanka to bat in the morning, and set attacking fields for her bowlers throughout. All six bowlers responded with wickets, the offspinner Erin Osborne returning remarkable figures of 10-6-9-3 after seamer Julie Hunter’s 6-3-6-1. Australia’s batting, which has been a source of concern, had little trouble getting to the target of 132, with the openers Rachael Haynes and Meg Lanning drowning Sri Lanka’s remaining hopes in a flood of boundaries.An hour into their innings, Sri Lanka were in trouble at 41 for 4 and it had it not been for a face-saving stand between Deepika Rasangika and Dilani Manodara, they would have struggled to get to 100. Fields did not let them get too far beyond that mark. The Australia captain was relentless in her pursuit of wickets, crowding the inner circle with fielders through the innings. One of the few times she had the maximum permissible four fielders in the deep was when the hard-hitting Eshani Kaushalya came in. The pressure of trying to beat the infield led to the regular fall of Sri Lanka wickets. Holly Ferling, the 17-year old quick, struck in her opening spell again, sending back Sri Lanka captain Shashikala Siriwardene who nudged one down leg to the wicketkeeper Fields.The Australian captain kept the field up after the opening Powerplay, and also left cover vacant to invite the drive against the offspin of Lisa Sthalekar. Sandamali Dolawatte went for the stroke to a flighted one, and a delighted Fields snapped up the edge. There was turn and bounce for the spinners but Surangika responded the way she had played against India. She lofted the seamers down the ground, swatted them through extra cover and also cut hard. Batting with a cap on, she even hooked the pacy Ferling to the deep square leg rope.Rasangika was put down by Sarah Coyte off her own bowling on 22, but Australia restricted the partnership to 49 as Schutt had the batsman caught on 43 at short extra cover with the fifth ball of her second spell in the 31st over. Manodara, who had edged Coyte twice past the slips for four, fell in the next over as she tried to hit Osborne over mid-on, Schutt backpedalling to take a well-judged catch.Kaushalya, who had shocked England and India with her powerful hits, did not hang around for too long. Drives, pulls, cuts, and a straight six appeared in no time as she raced to 37 off 36 before cutting one to slip.Haynes took over, piercing the off-side field with numerous drives as Sri Lanka’s fielding fell apart. She hit a couple over the advertising boards at long-on for six before bringing up the win with another cover drive for four. She was on 71 off just 61 by then, and Australia were in their seventh World Cup final in nine attempts.

Há momentos na vida de um clube que se tornam inesquecíveis. São aqueles em que o torcedor, dos mais novos aos mais veteranos, enche o peito para dizer “Eu estava lá”. E isso, não necessariamente, significa uma vitória, a disputa de um título. Às vezes, um simples jogo amistoso, independentemente do resultado em campo pode valer mais do que a conquista de um campeonato. Foi isso o que se viu neste fim de semana, no Recife, quando mais de 17 mil alvirrubros – mais gente do que a capacidade autorizada pelos bombeiros, registre-se – celebraram a volta do Náutico ao velho Estádio dos Aflitos após cinco anos de uma sofrida ausência.

Vale um pouco de história. O campo da Avenida Conselheiro Rosa e Silva foi inaugurado em 1917 e pertencia, no início, a Liga Sportiva Pernambucana. Quando, atolada em dívidas, a entidade decidiu passar adiante o terreno surgiu o interesse do Náutico. O clube pagou 250 mil réis e construiu ali seu estádio. O nome oficial, Eládio de Barros Carvalho, é uma homenagem a um ex-presidente do clube. O apelido Aflitos vem do bairro em que está localizado. Mas poderia muito bem ser referência ao sentimento que a palavra transmite: aflição, nas vitórias ou nas derrotas, é o que nunca faltou na longa relação do torcedor do Timbu com o seu estádio.

Sim, as arquibancadas dos Aflitos assistiram a momentos mágicos. Tão mágicos como a festa de domingo – que durou mais de 10 horas numa mistura de homenagens, músicas e futebol, coroada com a vitória por 1 a 0 do Náutico sobre o Newell’s Old Boys, da Argentina. Foi ali que o clube conquistou marcas até hoje imbatíveis: o único hexacampeonato pernambucano, o gol mais rápido da história do campeonato brasileiro – Nivaldo, aos oito segundos de jogo numa vitória contra o Atlético-MG por 3 a 2 em 1989 – e o feito de ter sido um dos poucos, se não o único, dos principais estádios do país onde Pelé jogou sem nunca balançar as redes.

Mas nem tudo engrandece a história do Timbu. Também foram escritas páginas com tristezas, uma delas imortalizada nas telas de cinema: a Batalha dos Aflitos, em novembro de 2005, quando o Náutico perdeu (1 a 0) para o Grêmio o acesso à Série A do Brasileirão numa partida marcada por tumultos em campo e um festival de atitudes antiesportivas fora dele, como a pintura do vestiário dos visitantes poucas horas antes e a água cortada durante a partida.

O último jogo do Náutico nos Aflitos havia sido em maio de 2014, uma derrota por 1 a 0 para o Avaí pela Série B. De lá para cá o clube se meteu numa aventura, assinando um desastrado contrato para mandar seus jogos na Arena Pernambuco. Foi um salto maior do que as pernas. A distância do estádio da Copa e as dificuldades de acesso proporcionam uma sucessão de prejuízos. O descumprimento pela concessionária de repasses previstos no contrato e o envolvimento da arena nas investigações da Lava-Jato indicavam que o clube deveria voltar as suas origens, o que acabou decidido pela diretoria atual.

Este período do Náutico fora de sua casa deixa algumas mensagens importantes. A maior delas é que ter um estádio é ser dono do próprio destino e isso faz toda a diferença. Nos quatro anos de Arena Pernambuco, o time caiu para a Série C. Rompeu, e não é exagero dizer, o cordão umbilical que o unia a boa parte de sua torcida – 40% do público ia a pé para o velho estádio. O simples anúncio da volta transformou esse cenário: uma campanha de arrecadação de fundos custeou parte das obras – cadeiras, pedaços do alambrado, a grama e até os antigos portões foram vendidos. E nas últimas semanas, com a proximidade da reinauguração, mais de 7 mil novos sócios torcedores se inscreveram no programa de fidelidade. Um impulso para que o clube se reinvente também no campo e possa voltar a ocupar o lugar de destaque que merece no futebol brasileiro.

Mas se o Náutico vive a perspetiva de dias melhores, a situação da Arena Pernambuco aponta para o contrário. E aqui há uma outra lição: não se viabiliza um estádio sem ter um clube que, mais do que jogar nele, possa participar efetivamente de sua gestão, decidindo o que é bom e ruim e compartilhando de suas receitas. Modelos como o de Recife – onde o Náutico era coadjuvante, um usuário somente – ou o que se criou no Maracanã onde os clubes, o Flamengo em especial, foram impedidos de participar do consórcio, estão e sempre estarão fadados ao fracasso.

A Arena Pernambuco, sem o Timbu, transforma-se de forma definitiva em mais um elefante branco herdado da Copa. O Maracanã, as vésperas da posse de um novo governo no Estado, ainda pode ser salvo. Mas é preciso mudar o modelo. E dar aos clubes o papel e o poder que devem ter. Que venha logo a licitação!

O Palmeiras teve neste sábado o sétimo jogador convocado para disputar o Sul-Americano sub-20, em janeiro. Depois de seis chamados da Seleção Brasileira, foi a vez de o Paraguai escolher o centroavante Aníbal. Ele será mais um desfalque do Verdão na Copinha.

O torneio que dá vaga na Copa do Mundo sub-20 em 2019, na Polônia, acontecerá durante o mês de janeiro, quando as equipes brasileiras também disputam o torneio de base mais famoso do país.

Destes, apenas o último não deve estar fora do clube, pois negocia sua renovação antes de ser emprestado por um ano ao Atlético-MG, em troca envolvendo Marcos Rocha.

India’s strategy of beating England on sharply-turning surfaces had left them 2-1 down with one to play so in Nagpur it was time to find another way. It was not pretty. Plan B was to drive England to distraction on the slowest, lowest, shabbiest pitch imaginable. It might yet work, but Test cricket, not in the best of health as it is, is a little sicker for it.That England came out evenly after the first day owed much to the self-denial of Kevin Pietersen, a quality with which he has rarely been associated, especially during a prolonged feud with England last summer which put his international career in jeopardy. But Pietersen yearns to end a largely unhappy year with a rare England Test series win in India and while others struggled he was a veritable professor of decorum. It is precisely because he had to work uncommonly hard that England will believe they are very much in the game.His 73 from 188 balls ranked among his slowest Test half-centuries but it was an innings of great purpose for all that and prevented England from becoming entirely becalmed on a tedious day when the run rate ground forward at two an over. Turgid cricket was inevitable on a sub-standard surface that demanded a defensive outlook from both sides as India sought a victory to level the series and dissipate gathering criticism of the captain, MS Dhoni and his coaching staff.Pietersen apart, England, needing to accumulate, largely gathered dust. Joe Root, a surprise debutant at No. 6, would understandably regard it as gold dust as he grafted for an unbeaten 31 in an unbroken stand of 60 with Matt Prior which stabilised England’s mood by the end of the first day. Root, a patient technician, was well suited to such denial. TV viewers in England, who had roused themselves for a 4am start, may have nodded off long before then, but crease occupation could be vital on a pitch that started dry, abrasive and heavily cracked.Pietersen fell early in the final session, flicking Ravindra Jadeja, India’s debutant, to short midwicket – an area where Ishant Sharma also twice come close to dismissing him. The wicket was the highlight of a quite unforeseen day for Jadeja, who also drifted his slow left-arm onto Jonathan Trott’s off stump when he misjudged a leave on 44, and who was generally met with such caution that he had 2 for 32 in 22 overs when Dhoni briefly honoured him with the second new ball. As the fourth-ranked spinner, he could not have expected that.Even allowing for the different characteristics of pitches worldwide, this surface was inadequate for Test cricket. For Sharma, the sole representative of that increasingly endangered species, an Indian quick bowler, to find such persistent low and uneven bounce on the first morning of a Test was a travesty; the only question was how much it was by accident or design. Praveen Hinganikar, the curator, had no reason for satisfaction.Sharma reduced England to 16 for 2 by taking the wickets of Nick Compton and Alastair Cook in his new-ball spell. It was vagaries in bounce that accounted for Compton, Sharma managing to get a short one chest high and drawing Compton into a defensive edge to the wicketkeeper. It was the vagaries of umpiring (mediocre throughout the series) that did for Cook as Sharma’s hint of inswing was enough to win an lbw decision from umpire Kumar Dharmasena even though the ball was clearly missing off stump. Sharma had come close to an lbw decision against Trott in his previous over and that might have helped.For England to find that they must repel India’s challenge in the absence of Cook, their ultra-dependable captain, must have come as quite a shock. In the first three Tests he had batted 1,565 minutes, 1,164 balls and scored 548 runs. He did not adorn those figures very much at all, managing a single off 28 balls. His departure brought India hope.The two wickets lost by England in the afternoon session were more self-inflicted, brought about by the pressure applied by India’s quartet of spinners on a ponderous surface that allowed minimal first-day turn. Dhoni was left to play a waiting game, dispensing with slip or men around the bat for most of the day, and arresting the run rate with ring fields until gifts fell into his lap.On several occasions, Trott and Pietersen, raised up on quick, bouncy South African pitches, made as if to pull a short ball before playing defensively on the crouch as the ball ambled towards them whenever it chose. Their third-wicket stand of 86 with Pietersen provided England’s only concerted response, but after Trott allowed himself to be bowled, Ian Bell’s unimpressive record in Asia continued as he punched a near half-volley from the legspinner, Piyish Chawla, to short extra cover.On a pitch where the ball repeatedly died on pitching, lbw is in play for any bowler maintaining a strict wicket-to-wicket line. Even as they strangled England’s innings, India must have seen enough to rue selecting four spinners instead of providing some fast-bowling support for Sharma. Steve Finn, omitted because of disc trouble in his back, was the type of tall, hit-the-deck bowler who might have been particularly effective and England could rue his absence.Although Trott occasionally swept India’s spinners to good effect and Pietersen, who was anxious to play positively against the spinners, muscled one or two shots down the ground, it was grim fare. Only a few thousand had turned out to watch it – this modern stadium on the edge of town echoing to the smallest crowd of the series. Those who stayed away were fortunate. Yawns all round.
