Monty Panesar has been fined by police after urinating on nightclub bouncers who ejected him from a club in Brighton in the early hours of Monday.Panesar, the left-arm spinner who was included in the England squad for the third Investec Ashes Test, was reportedly asked to leave the beachfront club, Shooshh, after a group of women complained that he was bothering them. Panesar, who had been part of the Sussex team defeated by Derbyshire in three days in a match that ended on Sunday, then walked up to the promenade above the club and urinated on the bouncers.While Panesar ran off, the bouncers gave chase and caught up with him in a pizza parlour and, having restrained him and dragged him back to the club, called the police. Panesar was fined £90 and, through his spokesman, released a statement offering an “unreserved apology” for his behaviour.Sussex CCC released a statement confirming that “an incident took place involving Monty Panesar in the early hours of Monday 5th August,” just hours before England retained the Ashes at Old Trafford. Sussex continued to say “the matter is under full investigation.”A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A 31-year-old man received a fixed penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly after being seen urinating in public near the Shooshh Club in King’s Road Arches, Brighton, around 4.13am on Monday.”The episode will do nothing to revive Panesar’s career. Quite apart from the uncouth nature of the incident and the unsettling image of an international sportsman being asked to leave a club for bothering women, the England management will be unimpressed by Panesar being “drunk and disorderly” at 4am during an Ashes series in which he may yet take a part.Panesar was dropped by Sussex earlier this season in part due to a poor on-field attitude. Struggling with a sore shoulder, he had fallen into the habit of stopping the ball with his boot in the field and throwing it back to the wicketkeeper underarm.Panesar was also arrested and interviewed by the police in 2011 after a heated argument with his wife in a pub car park. He was subsequently released without charge.Despite a tricky few months, however, Panesar enjoyed a fine tour of India at the end of 2012 where his 17 wickets in three Tests played a large part in England’s victory. He has taken 164 wickets in his 48 Tests and, aged 31, could yet replace Graeme Swann in the England side when Swann, 34, retires.

If anyone in the England camp takes a look at the scorecard from this game, it will be noted that Chris Tremlett, who missed out on selection for the fifth Test at The Oval, was the only name to feature in the Surrey wickets column. A five-for kept his team in touch against Durham and will provide further grist for those questioning England’s decision-making.That the home side were not too inconvenienced by Tremlett was largely down to the efforts of Scott Borthwick, a local lad who made his third first-class century of the season. England may well be interested in that, too.Durham is a proudly local county cricket club. Every time an outsider visits Chester-le-Street the sense of community and the bond between supporters and players is tangible.The man who leads them in their cricket, Geoff Cook, Durham’s first captain in first-class cricket and now their coach, is a Middlesbrough native. Cook is recovering from a heart attack but the spirit he brought to the club after a career with Northamptonshire and England pervades the place. His captain, Paul Collingwood, born in Shotley Bridge, has been playing for them long enough now to be termed a stalwart, and nobody in Durham will hear a word said against him.Borthwick and Will Smith, another who warrants acceptance as an adopted son, provided the runs that gave Durham cause for satisfaction at the end of a day which started with Surrey winning the toss and putting the opposition in. Whether Collingwood would have made the same decision as Gareth Batty had the coin landed the other way up is debatable, as his side entered the fixture with a depleted seam attack.Borthwick, who has been capped three times in limited-overs cricket, is a Sunderland boy and Smith, while born in Bedfordshire, was educated at Durham University. Between them they contributed 222 runs to Durham’s effort. Borthwick came to the wicket in the second over of the match after Tremlett had castled Mark Stoneman. Five hours later he had a hundred and until he was dismissed for 135 he never looked remotely vulnerable. He was tidy, compact, and seized on the loose ball to register 21 boundaries.Smith joined Borthwick after a tumbling slip catch by Zander de Bruyn saw off a promising innings by Keaton Jennings, who added 69 with Borthwick. Then the pair dug in and built a partnership of 183 in a little over 50 overs. Smith fell 13 runs short of a century and Borthwick followed him just before the close of play.Borthwick’s innings leaps off the scorecard but look further down it and you find the other outstanding contribution. Tremlett might not have been expecting to play in this game, but he was released by England and made his way up the A1. His presence in the side might well have influenced Batty’s decision to bowl first but, while the outcome at the end of the day might have disappointed, his faith in his bowler was justified.Tremlett took all five wickets to fall, bowling off 17 precisely calibrated steps before leaping into a colossal delivery stride. His accuracy rarely wavered, as evidenced by an economy rate of 2.31 and the modes of dismissal: one bowled, two lbw, and two caught behind the wicket. It was a joy to watch and he will be a potent asset for England in Australia in the winter – though some will wonder if he could have been as effective in south London this week.

عقد 67 نادياً من أندية الجمعية العمومية لاتحاد كرة القدم، اجتماعاً اليوم الأحد الموافق 16 يوليو 2023 بمقر الأولمبي بالإسكندرية، من أجل مناقشة موقف الأندية من دوري المحترفين للقسم الثاني.

وجاء ذلك بناء على الدعوة الموجهة من ناصر الشاذلي رئيس النادي الأولمبي لمناقشة قرار الأندية بطلب عقد جمعية عمومية غير عادية لرفض قرار مجلس إدارة اتحاد كرة القدم بإقرار نظام دوري المحترفين للقسم الثاني وتغيير شكل المسابقات بما يخالف نص لائحة النظام الأساسي.

وبناء على الاجتماع الذي عقد بمقر اتحاد كرة القدم يوم 10 يوليو 2023 بحضور 38 نادياً وحضور خالد الدرندلي نائب رئيس اتحاد الكرة والسادة أعضاء مجلس الإدارة والمستشار محمد الماشطا المستشار القانوني لاتحاد كرة القدم، تم الاتفاق على تأجيل دوري المحترفين وعدم تطبيقه في الموسم القادم على أن يتم تقديم مقترحين ليتم عرضهما على مجلس إدارة اتحاد الكرة لاتخاذ القرار رسمياً.

وقررت الأندية تحديد يوم الثلاثاء 1 أغسطس 2023 لإقامة الجمعية العمومية غير العادية بمقر اتحاد كرة القدم بالجزيرة بناء على نص المادة 33 من لائحة النظام الأساسي لاتحاد الكرة بعد عدم دعوة اتحاد الكرة للجمعية العمومية للانعقاد وتجاهل طلب 50 نادياً يوم 21 يونيو الماضي 2023 على أن يتم تفويض النائب طارق السعيد رئيس نادي الترسانة لتوجيه الدعوة والإعلان بأحد الجرائد القومية على أن يتم إخطار اللجنة الأولمبية المصرية والاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم “فيفا” بكافة الإجراءات القانونية التي يتم اتخاذها.

وتؤكد الأندية الحاضرة للاجتماع اليوم بنادي الأولمبي أنه تم اتخاذ كافة الإجراءات القانونية والتجهيز لعقد جمعية عمومية غير عادية انتظارا لقرار مجلس إدارة اتحاد الكرة المقرر أن يعقد خلال الساعات القادمة لإعلان القرار الرسمي بناء على الاتفاق الذي تم في اجتماع يوم 10 يوليو بمقر اتحاد كرة القدم.

وتؤكد الأندية أن موقفها الرافض لدوري المحترفين للقسم الثاني لم يكن وليد اللحظة وإنما مثبت قبل انطلاق الموسم بالاجتماع الذي عقد بنادي بلدية المحلة يوم 28 يوليو 2022 والاجتماع الذي عقد بنادي المنصورة يوم 20 أغسطس 2022 والاجتماع الذي عقد يوم 2 سبتمبر 2022 بنادي النصر والاجتماع الذي عقد يوم 14 سبتمبر 2022 بأحد فنادق القاهرة ثم طلبات عقد جمعية عمومية غير عادية يوم 15 سبتمبر 2022 من أكثر من 20 نادي لرفض قرار تطبيق النظام الجديد.

بناء على ما سبق، تؤكد الأندية أعضاء الجمعية العمومية لاتحاد كرة القدم أنها تتمسك بالحق القانوني في عرض المقترح على الجمعية العمومية والتصويت عليه وفقا لما ينص عليه الدستور المصري وقانون الرياضة ولائحة النظام الأساسي لاتحاد كرة القدم.

وقررت الأندية تشكيل لجنة قانونية للدعوة للجمعية العمومية مكونة من النائب طارق السعيد المستشار جمال عويس الدكتور حمدي مرزوق ، وتشكيل لجنة لعمل تصور لشكل الدوري للموسم القادم من المهندس الخضر إبراهيم والأستاذ أحمد جوهر والعمدة عدلي رسلان والأستاذ أشرف سعد والكابتن ناصر الشاذلي والأستاذ محمد نافع والعميد محمد بسيوني وضم الأندية التي ترغب في المشاركة في وضع التصور وقررت الأندية تعيين الأستاذ أحمد الأحمر متحدث رسمي بإسم الأندية أعضاء الجمعية العمومية.

Ashwell Prince hit an unbeaten 134 on a day of missed chances and milestones in Canterbury as Lancashire reached a respectable 269 for 8 in their end-of-season Championship clash with Kent.The former South Africa opening batsman posted the 35th century of his illustrious career to cement an otherwise faltering first innings by the newly-crowned Division Two champions. He barely put a foot wrong against a makeshift Kent attack shorn of Calum Haggett, Mitch Claydon and Charlie Shreck.The hosts gave a surprise first-class debut to 19-year-old rookie pace bowler Matt Hunn, who was thrown in at the deep end to take the new ball after signing on the eve of the match. A right-arm, Colchester-born seamer with a handful of appearances for Kent and Essex second teams and Suffolk, he replaced Shreck who is Kent’s leading Championship wicket-taker with 33 scalps.Both Kent and Hunn made a sound start once the fog cleared allowing play to start at 10.45am and, having won the toss, Kent made their first breakthrough with the second ball of the match.Mark Davies found a perfect length to draw Paul Horton forward and have him caught low and left-handed at second slip by Darren Stevens. Hunn sent down three maidens but was seen off by Prince who notched his 15,000th run in first-class cricket early in his stay.Davies gave way to Adam Ball at the Nackington Road End and Ball struck with his ninth delivery by bowling Luis Reece will a full length delivery. It was his sixth ton for Lancashire.The second new ball accounted for Alex Davies, caught at slip when pushing defensively at one from namesake Mark Davies, then Hunn bagged his maiden Championship wicket by having Oliver Newby caught driving on the up at extra cover. Kent fluffed a fifth chance late in the day when Billings parried a diving chance off the edge of Stephen Parry’s bat to deny Hunn a second scalp.

Pedro voltou a treinar no Fluminense. O atacante de 21 anos teve que passar por uma cirurgia após um estiramento e houve uma falha no menisco de seu joelho. Pedro agradeceu, ao site oficial do Fluminense, aos funcionários do clube e destacou a felicidade de participar dos treinamentos do Tricolor.

– Feliz demais por saber que todo esforço e sacrifício valeram a pena. Com a recuperação acelerando a passos longos, o atacante participou dos treinos com o resto do elenco de forma normal, estando nas atividades com bola e na parte física. A expectativa é que Pedro volte a ser relacionado na segunda quinzena de abril, perto do Campeonato Brasileiro. O atacante destacou que a presença da família e dos amigos foi importante nesse período.

– O mais importante é estar com a cabeça boa, e neste momento eu estou. Me cerquei da minha família e dos meus amigos e eles foram importantíssimos durante a recuperação, isso me deixa muito confiante para esse retorno. Fisicamente eu estou me sentindo ótimo, sei que vou voltar muito bem e quero fazer muitos gols nessa temporada – completou.

Wayne Madsen, the Derbyshire captain, has been awarded the inaugural Christopher Martin-Jenkins Spirit of Cricket Elite Award, created by MCC and the BBC to acknowledge exceptional sportsmanship, for walking during a crucial County Championship match.The award is bound to reawaken the debate over whether “walking” is to be regarded as a preferable form of behaviour in the modern game or whether the MCC, by championing the issue, is in danger of pushing the Spirit of Cricket to a point where it risks alienating majority support.Walking has been uncommon in all forms of cricket in England for half a century or more, yet in a display of double standards which has long been accepted as inevitable, a failure to walk still ensures a batsman who remains at the crease is treated to ritual abuse.The issue came back into the public eye when England’s Stuart Broad failed to walk for an obvious edge in the first Ashes Test at Trent Bridge, his “sin” looking worse than it was as the ball deflected off the gloves of the wicketkeeper, Brad Haddin and was caught at first slip.At Chesterfield, in July, chasing Yorkshire’s first innings total of 617, Madsen feathered a ball from bowler Steve Patterson to the wicketkeeper.With one lone appeal coming from the Yorkshire fielders, umpire Jeff Evans gave the Derbyshire captain not out, only for Madsen to walk back to the pavilion on his own accord. Saying that it was a matter of principle, Madsen went on to score a defiant 141 in the second innings, but his side still lost by an innings and 113 runs.MCC president, Mike Griffith, said: “MCC is passionate about its role as Guardian of the Laws and Spirit of Cricket, and it is instances like Wayne Madsen walking when his Derbyshire side was in real trouble against Yorkshire, which set an example for everyone in the game to follow and must be encouraged.”The winners of the youth award were Alton CC under-13 girls’ team who impressed the judges after lending their opposition players to field during a league match and also allowing some of the opposition to bat twice.”Deciding on the winner of the Youth Award and the school beneficiary was simultaneously challenging and heartening,” Griffith said. “We received so many wonderful examples of how the Spirit of Cricket is alive and kicking in the junior game at clubs and on school playing fields across the country. Congratulations to the Alton CC under-13 girls team who ultimately won the Youth Award. Their story really epitomises what the Spirit of Cricket means.Broad was pilloried in sections of the media for dishonesty and his actions, in return, were passionately supported by other critics as well as the vast majority of those involved in the game who said decisions should be left to the umpires.

‘Dentro do orçamento eu não sei te dizer porque eu não sei quanto foi gasto e ainda preciso de mais uns três, quatro ou cinco jogadores. Então talvez ele (Nenê) encaixe, caiba no orçamento, mas não dê para pagar o restante dos jogadores que a gente precisa. Mas tá difícil de encontrar. Se a gente ficar com esse elenco com 19, 20 jogadores aptos a jogar, é impossível a gente aguentar um Campeonato Brasileiro. Não sei se nós temos investimento para isso, mas temos que encontrar jogadores de boa qualidade que venham para jogar. Não necessariamente jogadores com nome, porque não ligo para isso, mas que possam produzir bastante com os que já estão aqui’, disparou.

Após derrotar o Guarany de Sobral, o Fortaleza de Rogério Ceni volta a campo na segunda-feira, quando recebe o Vitória, pela Copa do Nordeste.

واختتم: “نصيحتي لإمام عاشور؟ أقول له مبروك وجودك في الأهلي، كان من المهم أن يتواجد في الاحتفالية ويرى الجمهور ويحظى بمساندتهم، هو لاعب كبير ولعبت معه في المنتخب، بكل تأكيد هو مكسب وإضافة كبيرة للفريق”.
