ويستعد الزمالك لمواجهة سموحة، يوم الأحد المقبل، باستاد برج العرب، في إطار لقاءات الجولة الحادية والعشرين من المسابقة المحلية.

ومنح البرتغالي جوزيه جوميز المدير الفني للفريق اللاعبين الأساسيين الذين شاركوا في مباراة البنك الأهلي أمس، راحة من التدريبات الجماعية خلال مران اليوم الجمعة.

واكتفى اللاعبون الذين شاركوا بصورة أساسية في المباراة الأخيرة، بتدريبات بدنية في صالة الجيمانيزيوم داخل النادي، دون المشاركة في التدريبات الجماعية.

وخاض باق اللاعبين فقرة بدنية في بداية المران قبل خوض تقسيمة فنية للاعبين البدلاء والمستبعدين من اللقاء.

وعقد جوزيه جوميز جلسة خاصة مع زياد كمال ومحمد شحاتة ثنائي وسط الزمالك على هامش التدريبات الجماعية.

ومنح المدير الفني زياد كمال ومحمد شحاتة بعض التعليمات الفنية بشأن الأدوار المطلوبة منهما خلال المباريات المقبلة.

بينما أنهى السنغالي إبراهيما نداي لاعب الفريق الأول بالزمالك برنامجه التأهيلي الذي كان يخضع له في الفترة الأخيرة بسبب الإصابة في العضلة الضامة.

وشهد مران اليوم مشاركة نداي في التقسيمة الفنية بعد التأكد من جاهزيته من الناحية الطبية بشكل كامل.

وفاز فريق الزمالك على البنك الأهلي بهدف دون رد في المباراة التي أقيمت بينهما مساء الأمس باستاد القاهرة الدولي في الجولة العشرين لمسابقة الدوري، ليرفع الأبيض رصيده إلى 24 نقطة.

وفي سياق متصل، كشف محمد أسامة رئيس الجهاز الطبي بنادي الزمالك عن تحسن حالة محمد صبحي حارس مرمى الفريق.

ويخضع صبحي لبرنامج تأهيلي وعلاجي خاص في ظل معاناته من الإصابة بمزق في العضلة الخلفية، وشهد مران اليوم تنفيذ العديد من التدريبات التأهيلية، بجانب المشاركة في جزء خفيف في مران حراس المرمى.

وأكد محمد أسامة على تحسن حالة محمد صبحي، وبات قريبا من إنهاء البرنامج التأهيلي ليكون جاهزًا للمشاركة في التدريبات الجماعية من الناحية الطبية.

وحرص جوميز على عقد جلسة سريعة مع صبحي على هامش المران من أجل الاطمئنان على حالته.

وخاض محمد أشرف روقا لاعب الفريق تدريبات تأهيلية منفردة تحت قيادة علاء رجب مخطط الأحمال.

ويخضع روقا لبرنامج تأهيلي خاص بسبب الإصابة التي يعاني منها في العضلة الخلفية، ويؤدي المراحل الأخيرة من البرنامج التأهيلي في ظل تحسن حالته من الناحية الطبية.

وحرص الدكتور محمد أسامة على متابعة حالة روقا والذي أكد له على تحسن حالته في موضع الإصابة، وأدى اللاعب بعض التدريبات التأهيلية بجانب الركض حول الملعب بشكل منفرد.

تحدث طاهر محمد طاهر، لاعب الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بالنادي الأهلي، عن المواجهة القادمة أمام مازيمبي، المقرر لها يوم السبت المقبل ضمن منافسات بطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

ويستضيف فريق مازيمبي نظيره الأهلي، في إطار ذهاب دور نصف النهائي ببطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

وقال طاهر محمد طاهر في تصريحات للموقع الرسمي للأهلي: “مواجهة مازيمبي ستكون ‏صعبة للغاية، خاصة أنها على ملعب المنافس، لكن الجميع جاهزون لخوض ‏المباراة”.

واستطرد: “تعودنا على مواجهة الصعاب، وهذه ليست المرة الأولى التي نصل فيها إلى مرحلة نصف النهائي، وقد واجهنا تحديات عديدة في ‏السنوات الماضية، ونحن معتادون على هذا الأمر، وقد جئنا لتقديم مباراة كبيرة”.

وأكمل: “نعلم جيدا أن كل فرق القارة تؤدي بكل قوتها أمام الأهلي تحديدًا، ولكننا نمتلك ما يكفي من الخبرات، وسوف نسعى لتقدم أفضل ما يمكن لتخطي هذه المرحلة والوصول إلى النهائي مرة أخرى”.‏

واختتم: “لدينا مواجهتان أمام مازيمبي وسوف نأخذ كل مباراة على حدة، ونخوض المباراة الأولى هنا في الكونغو بكامل تركيزنا”.

Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, with the deal set to be done by the end of next week, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

David de Gea is considered an excellent professional within the club, as his experience makes a positive impact in the dressing room, and the Spaniard's exit means the club are set to act in goalkeeping department.

Prior to the announcement, Fabrizio Romano offered an update on the situation involving the Spaniard and how this affects their pursuit of Onana, saying: "For David de Gea, it’s not about being close to reaching an agreement with him because Man United already had an agreement. That contract has never been signed because they decided to wait and consider other options – with Onana now close,"

"De Gea wanted to continue at Man United but it’s on the club… they will speak with De Gea soon to clarify the situation."

Romano has also taken to Twitter to provide more information on United's pursuit of Onana, detailing that the deal is "really close" after a "positive round of talks", with the final bid expected to arrive soon.

The Red Devils have already made an offer of €45m (£38m) plus add-ons for the Inter shot-stopper, and they are expected to come back to the negotiating table shortly.

Personal terms have already been agreed with the 27-year-old, and the deal is set to be sealed by the end of next week, with Man United keen for him to join the squad for their pre-season tour of the USA.

Goalkeeping analyst Matt Pyzdrowski has claimed the 27-year-old's best trait is his ability in possession of the ball, as he is able to pass the ball in very tight areas, with the precision of a central midfielder, making him a very important player for Inter.

On the other hand, De Gea has been criticised for his passing ability, with United legend Paul Scholes claiming he "isn't the best footballer", while manager Erik ten Hag has stated he "can't ignore" his poor passing.

As such, the Cameroonian could be an upgrade in that regard, and he has also proven himself as a fine shot-stopper, ranking in the 88th percentile for his save percentage per 90 in the past year, when compared to his positional peers.

Hailed as "outstanding" by members of the media, the £63k-per-week goalkeeper played an integral role for Inter en route to the Champions League final last season, averaging a 7.41 Sofascore match rating – by far the highest figure in the squad.

With Man United set to return to Europe's elite competition next season, they need a goalkeeper they can rely on, and the Inter goalkeeper has proven himself on the highest stage.

While De Gea has been a fine servant to the club, making a total of 545 appearances, it was probably the right time to part ways with the Spaniard, and Onana has proven he could be a fantastic replacement.

Everton are the latest team to throw their hat into the ring for Romain Faivre, according to a report from Foot Mercato, via Sport Witness.

How has Romain Faivre played this season?

The midfielder – who primarily plays on the wing but can also feature as a traditional number ten – has spent the 2022/23 season on loan with Lorient and has really caught the eye with his displays. He managed 16 top flight games for the club but produced a superb total of eight goal contributions along the way, with five goals in total and three assists.

hen you consider he only managed 13.8 lots of 90 minutes for the club, it's a superb goal contribution rate for the winger.

He's never managed the same totals for parent club Lyon, although he has also not been able to get onto the field as much with them. Before moving to Lorient, he was given only three starts by Les Gones and managed just the one assist across 2021/22. In fact, he has only managed 12 league starts during the entirety of his time with Lyon.

Now, he could be given the chance to leave France and try his luck in the Premier League. That's because according to a report from Foot Mercato, via Sport Witness, the 24-year-old is drawing interest from several English clubs.

One of the latest to express their eagerness to sign him is Everton, who will have to battle Fulham and Crystal Palace if they want any hope of bringing the player to Goodison Park this campaign.

How much would Faivre cost Everton?

They may already find that to be a struggle, with Lyon also slapping a 15 million Euro price tag on his head (£13m). Whilst that is not an extortionate fee for the midfielder, it is one that the Toffees may currently struggle to pay – and the report adds that whilst they may be able to compete financially more than other interested parties from abroad, they will struggle against other Premier League sides.

He's clearly a player that possesses some real ability too. Those who have watched him have been full of praise for Faivre, with football talent scout Jacek Kulig previously calling the player "pure quality" after a performance back in 2022.

It shows that the 24-year-old has been impressive in France – and if Everton were able to poach him, he would certainly upgrade their midfield and wide options.

Liverpool are a club that boasts one of the richest histories in the English game, however, had only briefly returned to the pinnacle before they were dragged back down.

Fortunately for fans, further reports have emerged this month continuing to link them with a swoop for Gabri Veiga.

Despite his €40m (£34m) price tag, he could actually pose another coup, especially given how his early-career form mirrors that of a true Anfield legend.

Could Gabri Veiga emulate any Liverpool legends?

Whilst one journalist, simply titled Rimedi, referred to the Spaniard as a “baby Kaka”, it is instead Steven Gerrard that it could be argued the 21-year-old truly imitates.

After all, in his prime, the Scouse general was actually an attacking midfielder, full of energy, passion, aggression and, above all, immense quality.

Viega seems like he is in possession of all of these attributes, having enjoyed a standout year for Celta Vigo in his homeland.

As a childhood fan of the club he stars for, the youngster’s tally of 11 goals and four assists in La Liga from midfield is a startling figure. When compared to other midfielders across Europe, he also ranks in the top 1% for non-penalty goals and the top 12% for progressive carries per 90, via FBref.

For comparison, although it was under the pragmatic stylings of Gérard Houllier, the former Aston Villa manager could only muster 15 goal contributions of his own across all competitions at the same age, 21. However, in his true prime he was a real offensive threat, even notching 38 goal contributions across just one year in the 2005/06 campaign.

Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig sought to outline the other qualities that have helped make Veiga shine, noting his strengths as: “pace, passing, technique, shooting, off-the-ball movement, bravery, work rate”.

These are all attributes that saw Gerrard earn such success early in his glistening career, in which Jamie O’Hara has told talkSPORT (via Anfield Watch) that he was “the best midfielder the Premier League has ever seen.”

Although Veiga is unlikely to reach those levels that very few ever have, his emergence as a similar type of bustling goal-scoring midfielder could help rebuild Klopp’s dynasty, to once again make them challengers for the elite competitions.

Chelsea are holding “contact and talks” regarding a deal to bring Gabri Veiga to the Premier League, according to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg.

How good is Gabri Veiga?

Veiga is a central midfielder who currently plays his football for Celta Vigo in La Liga, having worked his way up through the various youth ranks to graduate from their academy. He’s now become a regular feature of the first-team, clocking up 55 senior appearances to date.

The Spaniard still has another three years to run on his contract at the Balaidos Stadium, but after establishing himself as his homeland outfit’s second top-performing offensive player last season, has been highlighted as an ideal transfer target by Mauricio Pochettino.

Reliable reporter Rudy Galetti revealed earlier this month that the Blues are one of several clubs to have “shown interest” in the 21-year-old, whilst Jacob Steinberg later claimed that a bid "could arrive soon”, and if the following update is to be believed, the two parties may already be discussing a switch to Stamford Bridge.

Are Chelsea signing Veiga?

Taking to Twitter, Plettenberg revealed that Chelsea are currently in negotiations with Celta Vigo and Veiga regarding a move ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. He wrote:

“Gabri Veiga is ready for the next step now. He will leave Celta Vigo. His management is considering many options as he could become a future top player in central midfield. Contact and talks with CFC and others. Release clause of around €40m [£34m] – confirmed. Bayern is not involved.”

Should Boehly make a bid for Veiga?

Chelsea will know that Veiga only being 21 means he would be more of an investment for the long-term future of the club, but having already started to show what he’s capable of on the main stage, Todd Boehly should certainly consider tabling an offer to secure his services.

The Gol International client – the same agency used by Christopher Nkunku – posted 15 goal contributions (11 goals and four assists) in 36 La Liga appearances last season, form which saw him collect three man-of-the-match awards, but the central midfielder was also a threat even when the ball didn’t hit the back of the net.

The Spain U21s starlet was averaging 3.14 shot-creating actions per league game which was the second-highest number in his squad, via FBRef, so he’s always looking to produce moments of quality for his fellow teammates.

Veiga has been lauded an “electric” player by journalist Fabrizio Romano for his youthful pace and energetic nature, so should he put pen to paper, it would be a massive coup for Pochettino.

According to the Shields Gazette, Leicester value Maddison at £50million, although the midfielder only has just over one year remaining on his contract.

With the quality already at Newcastle in the final third such as Wilson and Alexander Isak, who have netted combined 28 goals in the league this season, Maddison could thrive if he made the switch to St. James' Park, where he would play for a Champions League side and at 26, you could say he is reaching his prime as a midfielder.

The England international is one of the best creators in the Premier League, ranking eighth for chances created this season, so appears ready for a big move, and it looks as if that could be north to turn out for the Magpies.
